CHAPTER 75

The bright sounds of brass instruments poured out of the auditorium of Christian Family Church , as the congregation awaited the coming of pastor Gamadi the General Overseer of the church .

The praise singer sang so beautifully, that heaven came down . Over fifty pastors from all the branches of the church were In the church auditorium that Sunday to welcome the pastor back to the pulpit .

The pastors along with their wives created two files guards of honour . Pastor Gamadi and his wife Seember got down from the the black Toyota Landcruiser bullet proof SU.

The protocol men all wearing black suits with white shirts and black ties,climbed over each other to take the pastor’s bible , they escorted them into the church , the whole church roared in happiness and joy when the pastor got into the church .

That Sunday was a day of praise and worship, Governor Terser was in church with his entourage to welcome his friend ,in-law and colleague who saw the gate of hell and returned .

The church had not been that boisterous in over four years that the pastor wasn’t on ground . The church barely survived . Pastor Gamadi led the whole church on a prayer of mercy and forgiveness when he came on the pulpit..

“It’s so beautiful to be back on my feet .” He said with a charming smile on his face . “This morning I want us to consider a topic Jesus The True Shepard.”

The church with over seven thousand members in attendance was silent as a grave yard , one would hear a pin drop to the floor .

“We’ll take our text from the book of John chapter ten, we’ll read from chapter one downwards.” He read from verse one to verse to verse six then he paused .

“I want you to pay attention to this following verses , from verse seven downwards.” he said Seember stared at her husband knowing where he was going .

” Seven the Bible says Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. jump to chapter ten 11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

12 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.

13 The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.

14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.

16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.

18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.” he paused the he stared into the church relaxing on the pulpit after he had collapsed on it .

“Let us all turn our Bibles to book of Luke 15 from verse one .” The pastor waited patiently for the church to open their Bibles . “If you don’t have one you can look at the display on the LED screen I read Luke 15

2 And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them.

3 And he spake this parable unto them, saying,

4 What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?

5 And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.

6 And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.

7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

8 Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it?

9 And when she hath found it, she calleth her friends and her neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost.

10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth. ”

He walked with difficulties away from the pulpit . “Remember When the Jews wanted to stone a woman to death , Jesus asked them which one of you is without sin let him cast the first stone .” The whole church knew the direction the pastor was heading .

“If Jesus could abandon the ninety ships to search for the one which went missing . How then do we call ourselves Christians ? if we cannot be like Christ .” he got a handkerchief and wiped the tears building up in his eyes .

“Jesus died for our sins ,he didn’t condemn us , Jesus said who had no sin let him cast the first stone .” He said calmly pacing around the altar .

“How many of you here know my daughter Lillian ?” Almost three quarter of the church raised their hands .

“How many of you have been touched by her singing here in this church ? How many of you feel the move of God whenever she sings ?” still three quarter of the church raised their hands .

“Church if you’re in this church and you’ve not sinned against God ,in thoughts , in actions , in inaction against God here in the past four years please be sincere raise your hands .” Just a few people raised their hands .
