My Comfort Zone Season 2: Episodes 11-End

My Comfort Zone Season 2 Episodes 11-End
Season 2
Episode 13

Anita woke up from sleep to use the restroom.
When she was done, she was about retiring to her bed when she noticed her husband wasn’t on bed,
Just then, she sighted his study room just adjacent their room open, and suspected he was in studying.

“OH Lord help my wife. Spirit of the living God, revive my wife, revive her prayer life.

I declare the enemy shall not harvest her soul, in the name of Jesus. By the blood of Jesus I come against every attack of the enemy against her prayer life and I command such attacks to return to the sender in seven-fold, in the name of Jesus.” Anita heard her husband pray in low tones when she drew closer to the door.

“Is this a joke? The person I picked up a fight with few hours ago is interceding passionately for me? What kind of man is this?” She thought
When she had heard enough of his prayers, she quietly moved away from the door and went back to bed.
Her conscience began to prick her.

Seeing Frank praying for her after all her ‘displays’ of recent really got to her. She always picked up a fight with him for no justifiable reason; she sometimes pushed him to the wall to raise his voice at her but he walked out instead.

Despite her attitude of late, she’d overhear him praying for her whenever she went to ease herself
Sometimes he would place his hand on her head to pray over her.

“I might not know what is happening on the inside of you, but never forget I love you, and I mean it. So no matter how you behave, it wouldn’t move me to say hurtful words to you.” She remembered his words clearly before he left the room for her last night after a hot argument brought up by her.

As she thought of her relationship with her husband, her mind shifted away to her spiritual life.

“Am I really being attacked?” She asked herself as she reflected on all that had transpired in her life for the past one month. She couldn’t help but admit she had become less prayerful and more angry these days. It felt like every little thing pissed her of, and she picked offence really easily.

“But what happened to me really? How did I become an angry bird all of a sudden?” She asked herself as she recalled all the episodes of her being aggressive and unnecessarily angry with her husband and daughter.

“Your spiritual life is weak, so your flesh is officially taking over.” She heard a gentle whisper within her. She almost leaped out of bed for joy because it has really been long she had received direction and counsel from within her.

“Spirit of the Living God, you’ve been there all these while?” She asked in a whisper, grinning from ear to ear.

“I’ve always been here dear; you just haven’t involved me in your affairs for a while now.” The gentle voice responded and then a scripture dropped in Anita’s heart almost immediately.

“The Lord will be with you while you are with him. If you look for him, you will find him. But if you go away from him, he will go away from you.”

“Hmmm…..I’ve not been hearing Him because I haven’t been seeking Him for some time now.” Anita whispered in her heart.
In a few minutes the door creaked open and Frank walked out of his study room.
He climbed and laid beside his wife, wrapping his arms around her. Anita laid still with her eyes shut; she didn’t want him to know she was awake.

“I love you babe, God bless you.” He whispered in her ears and pulled her closer to himself.

“God! Even when I’ve not been so much of a good wife to this man of late, he still loves me enough to intercede for my soul and wrap his arms around me just the way I like it.” Anita thought to herself and sighed

“You up?” He whispered to her when she tried to release herself from his grip.

“Yes.” She replied too in a whisper. After he had let go of her, she came down from the bed and went on her knees.

“God, thank you. Thank you for giving me a man who can stand in the gap and war for my soul when I’m too weak to pray myself.
I can’t explain how I feel right now, but I know I feel loved….so loved. First by you, and then by the man you gave me to do life with.

I’m sorry for not being around for the past one month now and I have to admit God, doing life without you is a very hectic journey.
I’m back now Lord, thanks to your intercession for me through my husband. And I missed you so much.

I’m so sorry for letting the enemy interrupt my relationship with you, I’m sorry for letting sleep take over when I was meant to be praying; because I think that was what let to my backsliding and losing you altogether.

I’m back now Lord, and it’s for good. I promise not to let my human wisdom get in the way of your instructions again.” Anita said as she raised her voice in worship to her God

“Good morning princess.” Frank greeted with a smile on his face as he walked into the kitchen.
Anita looked behind her and smiled

“I remember that was your favorite pet name for me when we were courting.” Anita said and blushed

“It still is my favorite you know? That pet name hold a lot of memories for me.” He said as he came closer and wrapped his arms around her waist.

“I know right, but then you keep changing pet names for me. First it was Princess, then it became angel, and then honey….”

“All of them fit you baby.” Frank said and gave her a peck as she laughed heartily

“It has already changed to baby o chai. This man ehn…..” She said and chucked as her husband tickled her here and there.

“I saw you praying today, and believe me, it was so sweet, refreshing and relieving hearing you pray.” Frank said. Anita smiled and turned around to face her husband.

“Thank you for interceding for me till the praying giant in me awoke from its slumber.” She said as she wrapped her arms around his neck and looked lovingly into his eyes.

“Me? Believe me, I did nothing. It was all the work of the Holy Spirit”

“Oh really? Tell me about it”

“You know at first when I noticed your spiritual life was going down, I tried to bring your attention to it but you weren’t listening to me. So I decided to meet the one who has the heart of my wife in his hands.” Frank said with a smile as he saw the confusing look on Anita’s face.

“Who?”

“God of course.”

“Taa biko…it’s the heart of kings that’s in his hands and not the heart of wives.”

“Well, as far as I’m concerned, he has your heart and that of every believer in His hands. I mean if he has the heart of kings-godly or not, why wouldn’t have the heart of his own in His hands?”

“Hmmm…A good point. Okay, continue. Then what happened?”

“I realized as I was talking to him about you and begging Him not to let you backslide, nothing was happening. Instead, things get getting worse and worse. It was going from frying pan to fire.”

“Oh wow. And..?”

“And it continued like that until God spoke to me. You wouldn’t believe what He told me.” He said and paused and sighed.

“Tell me, what did He tell you?”

“He said what I’m doing is not prayer. I’m just repeating what the Israelites did in the wilderness.”

“Which is?”

“Grumbling and complaining.”

“Hmmm….”

“I remember the Holy Spirit telling me point blank that all the things I was complaining about concerning you was something I could easily correct by speaking the Word over your life.

For example, I was telling him that I had a feeling you were backsliding and that He should do something about it; but He was telling me I should do something about it instead by wrestling for your soul and prayer life in the place of intercession.

He said instead of complaining, I should get down on my knees and begin rebuking the spirit of prayerlessness charging against your prayer altar.

He taught me to get on my knees and keep quoting the scriptures over you. He literally took me through the scriptures and for the first time, I came across the spirit of prayer and supplication. Likeeeee, I never knew it was written out point-blank in the Bible.”

“Oh really? Where is it in the Scriptures?”

“I wouldn’t tell you, you’d go check it out yourself.” Frank said with a smile as he playfully held her nose.

“Haba na, that’s unfair!” Anita said and pouted. Her husband laughed.

“Okay, I’d give you small expo. It’s in the book of Zechariah…”

“Chapter?”

“12…”

“Verse?”

“Nope, I’m not telling you that one.”

“Haba na, I’d give you extra meat tonight….”

“Hmm..…tempting, but still a no.” Frank said as Anita scoffed and then laughed.

“I don’t need you to tell me the verse, I’m sure I’d see it fast with my Bible.”

“Well, so apart from that verse, He took me to another one in Micah 3:8 and babe, it blew my mind…”

“Hmm…what does it say?”

“I read it in the NLT version and it said ‘But as for me, I am filled with power and with the Spirit of the Lord, I am filled with justice and might….”

“Wow.”

“Yes, and babe it felt like I immediately knew what to do with that Scripture; and like fire in my bones, I started confessing everything I wanted to see in my wife.

I slowly stopped complaining about my wife’s backsliding and started confessing that she’s filled with the spirit of grace, with the spirit of the Lord, with the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of……”

“Jesus! Hubby really programmed a lot of things into me o.” Anita exclaimed and laughed.

“Why not? I couldn’t watch the enemy conquer the gate of this home.”

“Opoor! Vital words of a praying husband. Thank yooooouuu.” Anita said and gave her husband a warm hug.

“Yaaay! Family huuggggggg.” Hadassah said as she walked in and joined in the hug.

“Okay that’s alright. Hadassah go make sure the dining table is set, so mummy can serve us something delicious. Daddy is famished.” Frank said and Hadassah ran off.

“So we’re expecting something delicious to arrive soon.” Frank said and gave a smirk, leaving his wife blushing.”
