Where to Find Chamoy in Grocery Store

We all love the popular Mexican sauce because it’s a condiment that goes with pretty much anything – thanks to its salty, sweet, sour, and spicy taste. Despite being a sauce originated by the Mexican people, it is versatile enough to be among some key recipes used for Native American dishes.

In this article, we’ll give a quick guide on where to find this Mexican sauce in some grocery stores, and also the kind of brands that these stores stock.

What Aisle is Chamoy in Grocery Stores?

Finding chamoy is quite easy, even if you haven’t been to that grocery store before. Most grocery stores will place their chamoy in the international aisle, in the Mexican foods or Latino section. However, it’s not a surprise if you get to see it in the spice aisle in some grocery stores.

Being a condiment, its application is quite dynamic as such, a couple of grocery stores won’t be wrong to place theirs in the pantry aisle. Also, chamoy powder is often placed in the candy aisle, and you can see fruit-flavored chamoy in the sour candy section too.

Great Ways to use Chamoy

  • You can use chamoy as a sip for fruits like mango, pineapple, or watermelon. It also goes well with vegetables like cucumber or jicama
  • Chamoy is also ideal for dessert toppings on stuff like ice cream, popsicles, etc.

How to Store Chamoy Sauce

Chamoy isn’t a complicated sauce to make in the first place, and in the same way, it’s a shelf-stable sauce that doesn’t need special handling. Even after opening, you can store it for up to a year, provided your storage time doesn’t exceed the date written on the expiration date. While that’s the case, you want to make sure that any freshly made chamoy (possibly homemade) should always be refrigerated and has a far much shorter shell life.
