Episode 19 (semi-final episode)

Frank struggled to sit up on when he heard his wife praying and worshipping that early morning.
He checked the time and it was half past 5.

He dragged himself to his study room to observe his quiet time shortly before preparing to go to work for the day. He had a lot of files he was going to attend to that day, so his plan was to get to work at least ten minutes early, as he didn’t want to work overtime.

After praising and worshipping God for a few minutes, he settled to study his Bible and receive a word from the Lord for the day.

As he flipped through the pages of the Word, his heart thought to read about Kings and how they won their battles in their days.

“At the moment they began to sing and give praise, the LORD caused the armies of Ammon, Moab and Mount Seir to start fighting among themselves.

The armies of Moab and Ammon turned against their allies from Mount Seir and killed every one of them. After they had finished off the army of Seir, they turned on each other.

So when the army of Judah arrived at the lookout point in the wilderness, there were dead bodies lying on the ground for as far as they could see.

Not a single one of the enemy had escaped” He read from 2Chronicles 20. His heart pondered on the verse for a while. Somehow, he knew this was the passage the Spirit of God had wanted him to meditate upon for that day.

“Was this not what the pastor preached on Sunday?” He asked himself as he read the whole chapter. After some minutes of meditation, he felt an urge in his heart to thank God for fighting his seen and unseen battles for him.

After 30minutes of spending time with God that morning, he ended his prayers and made his way to the restroom. As soon as he was done taking a shower and creaming his body, he left for the kitchen.

Finding his wife already in the kitchen preparing to make breakfast, he smiled.
“Good morning, love of my life.” Frank said with a hug from behind, making her blush.

“You decided to do a separate quiet time today. I thought we agreed last night to have a joint morning cry today.” Anita said, disengaging from the hug.

“Look who’s talking! Were you not the one that woke up before me? Why didn’t you wake me up?”

“I tried to na, but you were deeply asleep. It wasn’t my fault.” Anita defended.

“Ohh, so who’s fault was it then?”

“Is that a question? It’s yours of course.” Anita said as he smiled

“You’re somewhat troublesome.” Frank said, as he playfully sqeezed her nose.

“I’m not.” She protested.

“Well, I would’ve joined you when I woke up but I thought I’d disturb you if I do that because you were really deep into worship.”

“Yes o, I woke up from a dream as at then. In the dream , a Bible passage was given to me and the instrctuction was to praise and worship God, so I did as instructed. It wasn’t more than ten minutes before you woke up.”

“How did you know I woke up? I didn’t see you opening your eyes.”

“Ah ah, I sensed it naaa.”

“Well, the passage the Holy Spirit gave me to study today talked about praise as well. That was 2Chronicles 20.”

“Hmmm….I feel God has fought, or is presently fighting a particular battle for us.” Anita reasoned aloud.

“The same thing that came to my mind too when that Scripture was given to me. From what I understood from the passage, God doesn’t have to involve us in whatever battle it is He’s fighting for us at the moment; we’d just watch as spectators, and then divide the spoil amongst ourselves like the Israelites.”

“Yeah…..well, breakfast is ready. Let me serve you now, so you can go to work early. Mama and Hadassah should be awake by now.”

“Good morning Sir.” Frank’s secretary greeted as soon as he walked into the office

“Roseline of the Most high, how are you today?”

“I’m very fine Sir, and you?”

“I’m doing well, as you can see.”

“Sir this one you’re earlier than usual today………..”

“Yeah I want to work on the documents you brought in quite late on Friday. I’m not a fan of working overtime, so I thought it best to come early and attend to them.”

“Oh okay Sir.” Roseline said with a smile. Frank left her and went into his office. After saying a few words of prayer, he opened his drawer, brought out a pile of documents, and got to work.

Ten minutes later, he heard a knock on his door.

“Yes I’m listening, what is it?” Frank said and shifted his focus from the laptop to Roseline who requested his attention.

‘Sir I know what I’m about to say is none of my business o, but I want to let you in on what has been happening in this premises for over two months now. I’m telling you this because you’ve been so oblivious to what has been going on around here.” She said

Frank sighed

“Roseline, Roseline, Roseline. You ehn, nawa. How many times have I told you I’m not a fan of gossips?”

“Sir I can’t count the number of times you’ve told me that, but this is far from gossip, I promise you. It has something…infact, it has everything to do with you.” Roseline said, and that got his attention.

“Is that so?”

“Yes Sir!”

“Okay go ahead, I’m listening.”

“Sir, do you know there have been people trying to kill you in this very office?”

“What do you mean by that? It’s not possible. I don’t have beef with anyone, so why would anyone think of harming me in any way?”

“Hmmm…Sir. I know you don’t issues with anyone, but I can tell you there are people who are determined to witness your downfall. And funny enough, these people are not far from you; they are within and around you.” Roseline said.

Just then, Frank’s official set rang.

“Hello Mr. Frank, can I see you in my office? Immediately please, it’s very important.”

“Okay Sir.” Frank replied and dropped the call.

“Boss asked to see me immediately, we can continue this discussion later okay?”

“Ohkay Sir.”

“Good. Now head back to your duty post, and don’t let anyone into my office while I’m away. Is that taken?”

“Yes boss.”Roseline replied as Frank left for his boss’ office
