My Comfort Zone Season 2: Episodes 11-End

My Comfort Zone Season 2 Episodes 11-End
Season 2
Episode 15

“Hmmm….thank God for safe delivery.” Frank said as Anita narrated everything that happened at the hospital to him.

“Yes o. I think I understand what the devil wanted to do: He knew there was no way she’d have a miscarriage because her faith was so strong, so he waited for her at the labour room.

Giving birth and hearing that the child is dead is really a disheartening thing, and can really slaughter one’s faith. It’s like failure at the edge of breakthrough.”

“Exactly! Just when you’re thinking that the battle is over, and God has given you the victory, he tends to put the last battle at the edge of one’s breakthrough- one you didn’t expect.”

“Gbam. Hmmm…this little episode has taught me a lot: the devil can be anything, but never a fool.”

“Abiiii….”

“The reason he was using my flesh to fight against me through anger was so I wouldn’t be aware when my sister would put to bed. He knew my presence would be needed at the hospital at that critical time.”

“Yes. I thought so too when you were away. I think another reason he was fighting you using your flesh is because of our son.” Frank said. Anita was quiet for a while.

“Ken…”

“Yes, Ken. Babe if we’re sensitive enough, that boy needs us. He needs our help. If you ask me, I feel like forces are really fighting against that boy. Remember the last time we were summoned by the school authority on his case?”

“How can I forget?”

“I think there’s something more to the report they gave about him. We have to hear from the horse’s mouth- we have to hear from our boy himself.”

“Hmmm….that’s true. Okay, we can make out time to see him this weekend.”

“Weekend? But don’t you think that’s too far?”

“How?”

“Today’s Wednesday.”

“So?”

“It’s two days to weekend.”

“I know right? But my days off at work is ending today, and I’ve got to resume tomorrow. Let’s just make it weekend. We’d be praying to God to keep him from evil till then

Frank woke up late into the night, feeling pressed.
When he returned from the restroom, he noticed his study room was open like there was someone there.

“Babe?” He called out when he saw his wife praying and flipping through the pages of her Bible.

“Haa….you’re crying? C’mon talk to me, what is the problem?” Frank said when he moved closer to find his wife sniffing.
She muttered a few words in tears.

“Talk to me my love, what is the issue? What is that thing that’s bothering you so much?” Frank asked as he came closer and pulled her into a warm hug.

“My son….my son is in trouble. I saw it in my dream tonight.” Belinda managed to say and pulled away from his arms to look at him,

“We have to go to his school as soon as possible please. Tomorrow may be too late.” Anita said, looking pleadingly into his eyes.

“Fine. We’d go to his school at dawn”

Ken had gone to sleep that night after reading for half an hour in preparation for his test coming up next week.

It wasn’t long he slept before he felt a tap on his arm.

“Get up. We have a journey to embark on.” A young boy like himself said to him.

Without any form of hesitation or resistance, Ken stood up from where he laid down and followed him sheepishly.
When they were a few steps away from his bed. Ken looked back and was shocked to see another part of himself still asleep

“How come?” He asked himself as he felt a strange force pulling him towards where the boy was leading him.

“Je…” He attempted to shout when they arrived at a strange meeting, but was hushed by one of them.

“Pa…Paul?” Ken called out, unsure of who he was seeing.

“Hello, mate.” Paul said and grinned in response.

“But what….how did I get here?” Ken asked as he looked round the scary environment he was in

“I told you I’d have exactly where I want you. You thought those were mere words, right?” Paul said and laughed weirdly

“Don’t worry you’d be fine…..for the time being.”

“Jesus!” Teju shouted out of his sleep and sat on his bed immediately.

“What a bad dream! Jesus! That dream was too bad.” Teju muttered to himself and turned to Ken.

“Ken wake up.” He had wanted to say but on a second thought moved closer to him and discovered something strange. He didn’t have a solid proof yet, but Teju knew something was off about the Ken he was seeing on the bed.

He had his eyes closed but was looking very pale. Teju who had been with Ken for sometime now could tell that his sleeping posture too wasn’t normal.

While staring at his friend, guilt struck him. He had always had the nudge to pray for him, but had always shoved it aside.

“Everything isn’t spiritual. Some matters could be handled intellectually.” He always reminded himself whenever a part of him wanted to suggest prayers to him whenever Ken told him about Paul’a threats.

“And besides, I don’t want to be seen as a spirikoko person.” He recalled himself say within him.

“It’s not too late to start praying for him now, you know.” He heard like a gentle whisper within him.

“Okay God, Okay….ehmmm…” Teju muttered, trying so hard to pray but lost his words.

“If you don’t know what to pray, pray in tongues.”

“Ehnn? Nooo… My speaking in tongues isn’t really tush. It doesn’t really sound spiritual.”

“Asin?”

“Asin it doesn’t sound like other people’s speaking in tongues, it’s not…”

“Oh wow…the ‘other people’ you’re comparing yourself with, hope you know that at first the tongues didn’t really make any sense…..and trust me, it never will until you make out time to develop it with practice. Practice makes perfect, you know?”

“Hmmmm….”

“So please, whether your own speaking in tongues sound somehow to you or not, still pray in the spirit. It’s the only way you can grow afterall.” A gentle voice within urged him.

“Okay….I’ll pray.” Teju responded and slowly began his prayers. As he kept speaking, he felt his words where getting more powerful as he intensified his prayers.

After a while of praying in the spirit, it felt like an instruction had dropped in his heart. Immediately he opened his eyes, he put his mouth close to Ken’s ear

“Jesus!!!!” He shouted in a hushed tone. And immediately, Ken gasped, with his eyes popped open.

“Thank you Jesus…Thank you Jesus…Thank you Jesus.” Teju said as he waved his hands in the air in thanksgiving and reached out for Ken afterwards.

“Ken are you okay?”

Ken nodded in reply

“What happened to you? Where did you go to? Who did you see there?”

“Paul…” Ken whispered. Teju sensed fear in his voice.

“Paul again? Has he gone diabolical now?” Teju asked and sighed

“You know what? That isn’t a problem. Let’s pray…..” Teju said and Ken turned to look at him. Teju became nervous, but managed to maintain a steady voice

“It was prayer that brought you back from wherever Paulo took you to in your sleep. And I believe the same prayer is powerful enough to make your parents remember you to at least take you out of this place before things get out of hand.”

“Okay…” Ken agreed with a nod.

“Good. So let us pray.” Teju said as he stretched out his two hands which Ken held in agreement…

TBC
Okay so I had this friend of mine ‘complain’ to me that her speaking in tongues doesn’t really feel “powerful”.

That how do I do mine? Omoooo…..her question alone took me back to two years ago, when I freshly received the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues.

I feel like laughing as I’m typing this right now because ehn….it didn’t really feel as powerful too. It felt like I wasn’t making any sense, plus I was only repeating a strange sentence a dozen times.

Asinnn ehnn………but did that stop me? No
Did I keep praying even when it didn’t feel ‘powerful’? Of course
Did I press on even when it felt like I was just saying a particular sentence for months? A dozen yes! I mean, I get choice before?

See ehn, everybody passed through that, including those you admire, and those you feel theirs are more ‘powerful’ and ‘authentic’ than yours.

(I’m glad I’m saying this from experience so it won’t look like a fairytale.)

Once you’ve believed in your heart that you’ve received it, biko begin to practice it as often as possible. Don’t get discouraged and please don’t compare because with time, IT WILL GROW. Whatsoever you give your time to, grows.

The sin you spend time repeating GROWS until your conscience is dead and your heart becomes hardened.

Your prayer life you spend time nurturing GROWS until you’re no longer afraid of what the enemy, or man can do to you

The Bible you spend time to study GROWS and deepens in your heart until you understand the power in the Word of God and begin to use it in your life effectively.

Anything, just anything you deliberately give your time to, GROWS
So in the same vein, your speaking in tongues will GROW

Just don’t be discouraged, okay?

And as for me and the rest of people like me that too dey shy to discuss prayer, abeg repent o……because the person you’re shying away from, is the one that needs that needs to hear that ‘prayer suggestion’ the most (you should also be willing to make out time and pray with them sha, because they may not know how to pray really)
