My Comfort Zone Season 2 Episodes 11-End
Season 2
Episode 12

Ken kept moving on his bed. It looked as if he was struggling with something as he held the two sides of his bed tightly before screaming out of sleep.

“What is it? What happened?” Teju his roommate asked, alarmed.

“Paul, it was Paul.” Ken managed to say as he gasped for breath

“Paul? What happened to Paul?” Teju asked

“He…he was strangling me and saying…saying something like…….” Ken said, breathing heavily

“Said something like what?” Teju asked calmly

“I told you, I’ll stop at nothing to get exactly what I want. And if you don’t do my bidding, I’d make life hell on earth for you in this school.”

“Hmmm…Paul again? But what does he want from you exactly?”

“I don’t know Teju, I sincerely do not know.” Ken said and laid back on his bed.

“Honestly Teju I’m scared. Like…I’ scared for my life honestly. That Paul guy is nothing but a devil’s incarnate.” Ken said. Teju was quiet for a while

“So does your mom know about him?” He asked and Ken shook his head negatively.

“She doesn’t. Not that I’m hiding it from her or something, but the truth is, each time I put a call through to her with the intention of letting her in on what I’m facing here, we always end up talking about something else. Honestly I….I don’t know what causes it, but it happens every single time.
And when I’m home for the holidays, it completely skips my mind.” Ken said and exhaled.

“I just pray God delivers me from his claws.”

Belinda woke up around 10pm to find her husband on his study table in deep thoughts.
She had slept earlier than usual and it seemed her body woke her up like it had gotten enough sleep

“What is it? Is something bothering you?” Belinda asked with a careful tone.

“Hmmm….uhmm…I don’t know.” David responded after some time.

“What is it babe? You can talk to me, I’m ready to listen.”

“I feel God wants us to intercede for Anita.” David said and turned to face his wife

“Anita? Which Anita?”

“Anita your elder sister of course. Is there any other Anita that you and I know?” David asked

“The Holy Spirit has just been putting up her pictures in my heart every time, I mean every single time I close my eyes to pray. Babe I might be wrong but if you ask me, I feel He wants us to stand in the gap for your sister’s family and he wants us to do so urgently.” David said and by this time Belinda’s face had changed

“Babe, are you listening to me?” He asked when she wasn’t making input to the conversation.

“Yeah I’m listening.”

“Okay. So did you now hear all I just said?”

“Yeah sure..”

“So…”

“Good luck in your intercession for her.” She responded coldly and looked away.
David was confused

“I don’t understand what you mean by that.”

“It’s quite simple: I’m not joining you in your intercession for anybody.”

“I still don’t understand. Where’s this coming from?” David asked and Belinda gave no response.

“Babe, this is your sister we’re talking about here.” David said calmly.

“I understand that.”

“Then why would you ever have an issue praying for your sister, especially when she’s played important roles in our lives?”

“Babe listen; Anita has become proud and stubborn. I’ve been trying to reach out to her for over a week now, all to no avail. When I call, it’s either she doesn’t pick, or she sounds so angry….like my call interrupted something or like I’m a burden to her and she has other important things to do with the time she’s wasting to speak with me.

If I text nko? She just gives cold replies. See me I don’t know about you o, but I’ve decided to remain on my lane, so no one will feel disrespected.” Belinda said and David was quiet for a while.

“Hmmm…you know I understand how you feel, but don’t you think that’s like a more reason He wants us to lend our voice in prayer over her.”

“I don’t understand.” Belinda said and turned to face him.

“Since you know this isn’t the usual attitude she puts up with you, it could be she’s passing through some things she’s not saying and what you’re receiving could just be transfer of aggression.” David tried to explain and Belinda remained calm to reason things out.
When he saw his words were penetrating into her, he continued.

“And I might be wrong but if you check, I feel the Holy Ghost must’ve also ministered to you to pray for her.” David said and Belinda closed her eyes.

“True or False?” David asked. Belinda did not say anything.
She knew she always really had the urge to pray for Anita, but she’s been too hurt lately by her actions to be generous enough to spend time praying for her.
She recalled each time she would want to send a text to her, she’d feel some sort of restriction within her, coupled with a gentle voice asking her to pray for her instead.

But the thing is, she always really did whatever she thought was best, and not really what the Spirit of God in her was trying to communicate to her through the signs she was seeing.

“I wouldn’t lie, I’ve been getting the urge to pray for her; especially when I’m in the middle of either attempting to call her or send a text to her. But I always really ignore it.”

“Why?”

“Because….I don’t know, but I feel it’s not so much of a serious thing to involve prayer now. I feel prayer is like a weapon that should be used when there are serious issues at hand like death-threatening diseases or infirmity, accidents and all.

I feel what she’s going through is somewhat emotional so we can just apply intellect or wisdom instead of prayer.” Belinda said. David raised a brow at his wife

“Are you being serious right now?”

Belinda nodded

“Babe God created us, and sent His son to die for us, right?”

“Yes…”

“And when Jesus ascended into heaven, He sent us the Holy Spirit that’ll teach us all things and guide us into the truth. Am I correct?”

“Very.”

“Good. Now, would you think He wouldn’t teach us in all things as promised? Why do you think He’d only teach us to fight sickness, disease, and death;

and not teach us to control our emotions or thoughts? All I’m going with all these is very simple: God is interested in every detail of our lives, including our emotions. He wants us to involve Him in our relationship with people- be it our spouse, parents, siblings and any other relationship you could probably think of.

So concerning your sister, we’re going to pray and ask God for wisdom to relate with her, and also to help her out of whatever it is she might be passing through…………”

“David, I’m not praying, and that is final.” Belinda said in a somewhat stern voice

“Ha wahala….this is more serious than I thought o. Babe what is it exactly? What is the problem?”

“What I want…or wanted to tell her was an important something that was supposed to be a goodnews, but she just changed my mind with her character display.”

“Babe what she’s going through is bigger than her, it’s bigger than us! Please I want you to look beyond your emotions and what you feel, and really understand that it’s not about you.

This is a battle if you don’t know, and the battle isn’t about to put enmity between you two, the two of you are too small and valueless compared to what the devil is targeting.

He’s out to destroy something bigger, and is using your emotions to blind you so you wouldn’t clearly see what he’s trying to accomplish.” David said. It seemed like her husband’s words pierced her soul because she was stricken with guilt.

“Okay, fine. I’ll look past my emotions so I can see clearly what the devil wants to do, and understand how God wants to use me to destroy his plans.” Belinda said. David couldn’t help but smile.

“I’m proud of you dear, you’re really strong. Now let us Pray.”

Sometimes when people misbehave, instead of letting it get you, look past your emotions and see what the devil is trying to achieve with whatever issue or attitude you or the person might the putting up. I hope this is well explained.
