Belinda walked into her home very exhausted. After carefully taking off her sandals and dropping the market bag beside the centre table, she sat down on her favorite couch and exhaled heavily

“Hey Love.” She read from a paper that had been carefully kept on the centre table.

“Could it be Gift that wrote this?” She asked herself as she picked up the paper.

“But this isn’t her handwriting. She concluded and dropped back the paper.

After catching her breath for some time, she dragged herself to the master’s bedroom.

“Blood of Jesus!” She shouted frightened.

“David? Is this you?” She asked as David laughed at her reaction.

“Yes babe. Zaddy’s back.” He said as he spread his arms wide open for a hug.

“God, I missed you.” Belinda said as she planted a passionate kiss on his lips.

“I missed you more babe. So tell me, how have you been?”

“Fine…but lonely.”

“I came in earlier and Gift said you went out. You know you shouldn’t be walking around so much so you’d heal properly.” David said and Belinda rolled her eyes.

“Yeah blah blah. You’re beginning to sound like my mother.” She said and laid on the bed.

“It’s been a month since I put to bed, and I haven’t been allowed to move out since. So I just decided to stroll a little.” She said

“Okay, so where did you go to?”

“The market.”

“Market?” David asked bewildered.

“Yeah, the supermarket. I didn’t even buy anything much sef. I walked a short distance and became tired I had to rush home.”

“So where’s Wonder?”

“With Mama, in the guestroom. I just went to check on them now before coming here.”

“Oh okay.”

“So let me get you something to eat before I start with my gist.” Belinda said and got out of bed as David chuckled

“My gist woman.”

“You’ve been gone for too long na.”

“Too long? It was just two weeks.”

“Two weeks that looked like two years. Your management is not good; is it the time your wife both wants and needs you that they’ll remember to hold and important meeting ni?” Belinda said and feigned an angry face as her husband laughed.

“Well, at least I’m back now.”

“Yep. So get ready to listen to all the gist I gathered since you were away, because I’m gonna download them all to you once you’re done eating.” She said with a wink and left for the kitchen as David followed behind

“So tell me, how was being a mom for the past one month been?” David asked as he wrapped his arms around his wife.

“Well, omo. It has been beautiful. I thank God for the Holy Spirit that has been helping me.” Belinda said and took a deep breath.

“It’s as if the devil was waiting for me to be alone before attacking.”

“Oh really? Why would you say so?”

“Because just a few days after you left, Wonder started having serious breathing issues. I rushed him to the hospital and the doctor found nothing wrong with our son.

It was while panicking that I heard the Holy Spirit asking me to relax; that everything was under control, and he wanted me to learn one or two things from the experience.”

“Hmmm….okay, so?”

“So I did as instructed- I relaxed. From then on I knew it wasn’t a medical issue, so I drove into prayer and fasting almost immediately.

But along the line, I somehow knew in my heart that wasn’t exactly what God had wanted me to do about the situation. So I began to ask the Lord for directions on what to do.

And one of the days I was reading my Bible when a particular verse struck me. I immediately know the scripture was meant for Wonder and began confessing it over his life.

As I was confessing it, I was praying in tongues. A few days later I noticed his breathing became normal, and his skin was back to being fresh again. Babe if you ask me, I think someone was trying to squeeze life out of our son.”

“Hmmm…Abi?”

“Babe ehn, there’s power, great power in the word of God. And I feel that power is being activated when we begin to confess it over our lives like seriously.

The way Wonder came back to normal after speaking the word of God over his life while bathing and breastfeeding him really shocked me. Ha….omo, I don’t think I’ll want a day to go by without confessing at least one verse of the Bible over my family again o.

It may seem minor to you, but I really learnt a great lesson from it. If not ehn, that’s how I would’ve lost Wonder, and you’d be hearing stories upon stories by now.”

“Hmmmm…..”

“Yep. So that’s the end of my story.”

“Hmmm….we thank God for everything. And I’m really proud of you dear, you’re growing fast.”David said with a sense of admiration and gave her a peck.

“Ah Ah. David nwa m (my son), you’re back.” Belinda’s mom said as soon as she walked into their room.

“Yes Mama. Good evening Ma.”

“Evening my son, how are you?”

“I’m fine Ma.”

“And how was the journey?”

“It was fine too Ma, we thank God.”

“You didn’t bother to come greet me when you returned.”

“Actually Ma I did, but I met you sleeping so I decided not to disturb you.”

“Oh okay, that’s fine. Have you had something to eat?”

“Yes Ma. I ate immediately I came home.”

“Oh okay. Me I’m kind of famished. Let me go get myself something to eat” Mama said as she handed over Wonder to his mother.

“No Mama, let me do that for you.” Belinda offered but Mama refused.

“You’ve been treating me like an old woman ever since I came to your house, and I don’t like it. I’m very much strong and agile if you don’t know, so allow me do some little things by myself while you look after my newest grandchild.” Mama said and turned to leave the room for them.

“It’s proper to follow and assist her where need be, right?” David asked his wife in a whisper.

“Yes, please do.” Belinda playfully replied in a whisper and smiled afterwards, as David followed his mother-in-law.
