MY COMFORT ZONE SEASON 2 : EPISODES 1 – 10

Belinda just got up from her siesta when a call came in. It was Anita, her sister.

“Hello sis.” She said on picking the call

“Hi dear, how have you been?”

“I’m fine o, we thank God. How are you too?”

“Omo I’m good o. How is our third child doing?” She asked. Belinda let out a smile before responding.

“We bless God too.”

“Ehe speaking of our third child, I was observing my devotion today when an idea struck me.”

‘Okay go on, I’m listening.”

“Ever since my last visit, how has God been leading you towards praying concerning the child?”

“Hmm…omo. It has been a case of ‘As the Spirit leads’ o. But I wake up at night most times to pray. Sometimes I just make a declaration over the baby using the Scripture that drops in my heart. Other times I don’t remember or have the strength to hold a vigil, so when I wake up to ease myself I read the promise of God aloud and then go back to sleep. And that way we’ve been coping.”

“Okay, that’s good. I even want to make a suggestion. I think as frequently as possible, you should be pleading the blood of Jesus over the children.”

“Which children?”

“The ones in your womb.”

“Children or child.”

“No argue abeg, I no get your strength today. But that was what dropped in my heart when I was praying and observing my quiet time this morning. As often as you can, plead the blood of Jesus over the pregnancy you are carrying. You know the Bible says the blood of Jesus speaks better things than the blood of Abel, so by pleading the blood over your babies, it will silence every voice speaking against them.”

“Hmmm….okay, thank you. I’d put that into practice too.”

“Thank God for you. So how are you na? How has the journey been so far?”

“Hmmm….omo, I thank my God o! It hasn’t been easy at all. If you see what I experienced the other day ehn, hmmmm……babe, a closed mouth is truly a closed destiny o.” Belinda said as she narrated her ordeal to her sister.

“Wow….and the bleeding ceased just like that?”

“Yes o sis, the bleeding ceased just like that. A closed mouth is a closed destiny o.”

“Thank God you’re experiencing what you’re experiencing. At least now, nobody needs to tell you that your mouth isn’t meant for complaining but for correcting. When you were complaining that you were bleeding, nothing happened. It was when you starting correcting the bleeding with the word of God that something happened- the bleeding ceased.”

“Asin ehn. Honestly, I’m still shocked o. When I was complaining to that man I saw at the staircase in that dream that I was bleeding, he was like ‘so?’ That he had already given me the weapons to use and fight even the before the battles surfaced. Omo, complaining about a situation would not get anyone anywhere. Instead, we’re to correct our unpleasant situations with the word of God.”

“Preach it pastor!”

“Which pastor? Who is your pastor? Abeg I no like that kin rough play o.” Belinda said and they both laughed it off.

Momoh entered his shrine with all the pride in his heart. He was going to check on his victim and was so sure what he’d see would please him.

However to his greatest disappointment, what he saw shocked him beyond measure.

“What happened? She’s not meant to be carrying that baby up till now.” He thought aloud to himself and sought his magic mirror for answers.

“All my life, my powers have not been challenged the way it has been of recent. What is going on? Why do I seem so powerless over these people? Is there something I’m doing wrong? Please tell me and let me update myself, because this is more than embarrassing.” He complained to his magic mirror which was quiet for a while.

“Hex this isn’t the right time to go all silent on me. Talk to me, say something. You said the door of fear was wide open for me to use as a means of attack. I fired my arrow of curses and monitored its manifestations for a while. I was very sure she was going to lose that pregnancy, so what happened?”

“She countered the attack, and made your powers over her powerless.” Hex said, but Momoh didn’t seem to understand.

“How?” Momoh asked and just then an image was shown to him where Belinda was seated at the comfort of her bed, making scriptural confessions with faith in her heart.”

“The power of life and death lies in the tongue. He that loveth it shall eat of the fruit thereof. She makes use of her tongue to invoke the power of life over her child, and she’s steadily reaping the fruit of her words.”

“What about the power of death I’m invoking with the words of my mouth?”

“It can’t beat hers. Look at her……” The mirror spoke and revealed an image where there were three angel right there in Belinda’s room, surrounding her like bodyguards, with sword of fire hovering around her.

“The armies on her side and more than the ones on yours. As far as she isn’t ignorant of the powers at her disposal, you’re of no match to her.”

“What is the meaning of this? What are you trying to tell me? That I’ve lost the battle?” Momoh asked in rage. Hex spoke no further. In anger, Momoh threw his magic mirror away.

“I am Momoh the most powerful herbalist in this community and first in rank in my creed! A mere fly can’t make me feel this low and powerless. I will see to this to the end!”

Belinda found herself on a staircase. She was sitting comfortably and singing melodious songs to herself.

“Belinda Belinda, a woman highly favoured by God.” She heard a man say beside her. When she looked closely, she discovered it was a man- the same man that came to her while she was at the verge of losing her child not too long ago.

“I’ve seen you before.” Belinda said as she observed him closely. The man gave no reply, he only let out a smile.

“But wait? You just called me by my name, how did you know my name? And who told you I’m highly favoured by God?” Belinda asked curiously, but the man still gave no response. He just sat calmly beside her, staring into space.

“You may be answering Belinda, but your name is Favour. I call you Favor, because you are highly favoured by God.” The man responded.

“Favour? But I don’t answer that name, I’ve never answered that name in my entire life. My name is Belinda and my baptismal name is Mary, so how come?” Belinda asked.

“I’m not here to speak much with you. Probably some other time I’d be disposed to answer all your questions.” He said and finally turned to look at her.

“l have a message for you.” He said and stooped as if to write on the ground with his fingers.

“They shall fight against thee, but they shall not prevail against thee. For I am with thee to save thee and to deliver thee, saith the Lord.” Belinda read aloud as she saw on the ground beneath her.

“But who are those fighting against…..” She turned to ask but he was nowhere to be found.

“Ehmmm….Sir? Are you there? Sir?” She called out and got up to look for him.
It was at this point she opened her eyes.

“It was a dream.” She whispered to herself as she managed to sit up on the bed.

“That scripture, where is it in the Bible?” She asked herself. She immediately reached out for her Bible to search for the Scripture that had been given to her in her dream. Because she hasn’t really read it before, she couldn’t find it.
On a second thought, she carried her husband’s Bible and began to search.

“This man has already surpassed me in the spirit, so it’s possible he has seen it and already highlighted it sef.” She thought to herself as she got up to locate her husband’s Bible which usually stayed at the reading table.

“Ah ah, this is the Scripture nw…” She said when she picked up a piece of paper she saw just on top of her husband’s Bible.

“Jeremiah 15:20” She read from the paper as she opened to the Scripture in her husband’s Bible.

“And I will make you unto this people a fenced brazen wall: and they shall fight against thee, but they shall not prevail against thee, saith the Lord.”

“That’s it, that’s the verse the man showed me in the dream.” Belinda said to herself. She had an urge within her to spend time with the verse for a while, so she managed to sit.
As she read it over and over with different translations from her phone, her eyes glanced through the next verse.

“And I will deliver thee out of the hand of the wicked, and I will redeem thee out of the hand of the terrible.”
Belinda paused for a while and meditated on the two verses she had received that morning.

“That’s my assurance for you pertaining to this journey.” She heard in her spirit. It felt like she knew it was the Holy Spirit speaking to her, and that she was talking about her pregnancy.

“Always remember that you are not alone, I am with you always.” She heard within her. It was like a breeze of Joy blew on her because she was all smiling like someone who had just been told ‘I love you’ by her crush.
Immediately she reached out for her jotter and wrote the Scripture down in her favourite Bible translation.

Now I don’t know if any of you noticed what just happened here, but we have to understand that when God sees that there’s a rage coming up at you by an opposition, He sends His word to you as an assurance.

So if you’re passing through anything or any challenge presently, prayerfully (emphasis on prayerfully) go through your Bible to fish out His word of assurance for you concerning that particular thing you’re facing, okay?
(I hope you understand what it means to prayerfully read or study the Bible.

T’s more like saying “Holy Spirit as I open the words you inspired men to write, show me what you have to say concerning my present situation or condition, in Jesus name” Now you need to say that prayer with faith in your heart that He will respond, and then open your Bible to read. Remember to pray like that whenever you want to read your Bible, so you’d be led to Scriptures, okay? This is something I’ve practiced. So if it works for a small girl like me, it can work for you too!)

So for you ma’am, add this Scripture to the numerous words of assurance God has given to you since the beginning of this pregnancy journey.

Always know and remember that, they shall fight against you (asper say them stubborn), but they shall NEVER prevail against you.
