Today’s gonna make it the third day of wandering in this thick bush like the Israelites. Ah ah, this is unfair, so unfair.” Greg complained.
Paul was quiet for a while.
“So what are you saying? What’s your point?”
“That there’s nothing like God leading us. All Festus is getting in his dreams are probably instincts or something and not God; because the God I know is loving, too loving to let us suffer in this thick bush for these number of days. Haba!” Greg said. Just then, Festus got up to join the brothers.
“Festus Festus, our seer.” Paul hailed.
“It’s not me, it’s God.” Festus replied, pointing up to the sky.
“So tell us, what did he say? Which direction today?”
“I didn’t receive anything throughout my sleep; I didn’t receive any instructions in my heart either.”
“Okay, so??” Greg asked impatiently.
“I suggest we stay here till God gives a go-ahead.” Festus replied. Greg scoffed
“Nonsense! Go-ahead for what? Arrant nonsense!!” Greg said on top of his voice
“Greg!” Paul cautioned. Greg rose to his feet.
“I’m going to prove to y’all that God isn’t leading us; we’re just following Festus’ instincts because it seems good.” He said, packed a little bag and was about walking out on them when his brother stopped him..
“Greg what are you doing? What on Earth do you think you’re doing?” Paul asked.
“Trying to prove my point.” He said and walked out on them without looking back.

Greg had walked quite a distance before finding a place to rest just before nightfall.
“You see? We literally can take care of ourselves, by ourselves.” Greg said as he laid down his bag and made himself comfortable in the cave.
However that night, there were alot of creeping things that disturbed Greg’s sleep.
At some point, it felt like there was a wild animal approaching Greg where he was.
Greg’s sleep left him.
He thought his mind was playing tricks on him but the constant footsteps and animal noise was becoming real.
Fear gripped him as the sudden thought of being killed by a wild animal flashed through his mind
“Oh Lord please protect me for this night only. I promise to join the rest if I make it out of here alive, please.” He prayed silently as he kept awake throughout the night.
Immediately it was dawn, he packed his bags and headed for where he came from.
Fortunately for him, he could find his way back to the cave where he left the others, but they had moved already, so there was nobody there.
Cold chills ran down his spines, but he decided to man up.
“I can still make it. I can still prove my point.” He thought in his hardened heart as he settled down there.
In the afternoon he was hungry- the kind of hunger one can’t bear for long- so he decided to go out in search for food.
On his way, he fell into a hole which he didn’t see earlier on. After struggling so much to get out, he felt something sting him on his leg.
He looked to see what it was and screamed loudly.
“Scorpion!!!” He screamed with a loud voice and picked race.
He couldn’t go any further as the pain in his leg became severe.
“Somebody please help me!” He should from where he was when he couldn’t bear it any longer.
“I see you’re doing well at leading yourself.” A voice spoke to him audibly
“I’m sorry God, I’m sorry. I didn’t know you were leading us. I thought it was by sheer luck that we were safe in every cage we lodged in. I’m so sorry Lord.
“So what do you want me to do for you noow?” The voice asked
“Help me. Help me out of this place. Help me reunite with the rest again. Please Sir. Also relief me of this pain.” He pleaded in groans.
“Turn to your left. When it’s nightfall, go to wherever you can find shelter and rest. Your brother will find you.” The voice spoke. Greg did just that.
