“Hey…Greg wake up…” Paul whispered as he shook his brother lightly.
“What is it? Why waking me up late this hour?”
“Shhh…bring your voice down.” He cautioned
“Wake up, it’s time.” Paul said
“For what?” Greg asked
“Shhh…just follow me.”

David wasn’t fast asleep. The thoughts of a man being dragged out right before his eyes to be executed that day remained fresh in memory.
“When are we ever getting out of here?” He questioned in his heart. Just then the door of the room opened slightly.
David was about to panic but Paul lit the candle with him and motioned on him to remain calm.
“Come, we’re getting out of here.” Was what Paul said when he succeeded in opening the lock on their “cage”
David immediately woke Festus who was fast asleep up, and they followed Paul’s leading
“What about the rest of them?” Festus said, referring to the remaining prisoners asleep.
“They’re gonna be a crowd, and I don’t want a weak heart on this journey. Let’s go!” Paul said. They met his brother Greg at the front door with the guard fast asleep.
“It’s locked, and opening it is gonna make a lot of noise.” Greg said. Paul gave it a quick thought. The door was made of iron. Any little sound could wake the guards up.
Paul turned to Festus.
“Pray to your God to help us out of here.” He said. Festus closed his eyes in prayer.
“Father, just like you did to Saul and his cohorts, cause a deep sleep to fall on all the people against our freedom tonight.
May they not hear us throughout this our escape attempt, in Jesus’ name we have prayed.” The little boy prayed
“Amen.” Everybody replied. Greg gathered courage and unbolted the door. Truly there was a loud noise, but there was no sign of anyone waking up.
Without the knowledge of the gateman, they unlocked the small gate and just began walking.
“Hey, stop there!” They heard someone say when they had gone a distance.
“Oh no, run!” Paul charged

Belinda was feeling uncomfortable in her sleep. She tossed up and down her bed continuously until she woke up and went to the bathroom.
“Pray for your husband.” She heard a voice say to her as she was about returning to bed.
She obeyed the gentle voice she heard in her heart immediately and knelt down to pray.

Gift saw herself in a house lazily chatting with a supposed friend.
After a long time of talking and gisting, she excused herself to ease use the ladies’.
“Gift….” Someone called out to her on her way to the toilet.
“Why are you sitting idle when there is work to do?”
Gift turned around to see who was talking but saw no one. She panicked.
“Who’s there?” She asked.
“Get up and pray. This isn’t the time to be idle.” She heard, more like an echo.
“Jesus.” Gift whispered as she awoke from her sleep.
“Get up and pray, this isn’t the time to entertain an idle sleep.” She heard again in her heart.
Immediately she knelt down beside her bed in prayer.

“I’m thirsty.” Greg said as they all laid down in a cave they had found.
“There’s no water here. Try and endure; when we get to town, we’d get you something to eat and drink.” Paul said
“Town? Did you just say town? Paul we’re in the middle of a thick forest! When are we ever going to the town you’re talking about?” The distressed Greg asked.
At this time, Festus was fast asleep. David was quiet, listening to the conversation of the two brothers as they argued.
“I don’t even understand why you had this crazy idea of escape in the first place. Look at us! No, just look at us!
All lying hopeless here in a thick bush, with no map whatsoever as to where we should head out next. We’re thirsty and hungry.
The candle you came with is burning out; the torch I came with is almost dead and very soon we’d be covered with darkness.
I seriously don’t know why you brought us into this mess like seriously. We were safer in Toyo’s hideout.
At least we were sure of food and water once a day and security too.
But here? Even a wild animal can come and kill us all when we’re asleep.” Greg complained. Paul didn’t respond; he was just quiet all through.
“I know you’ve always been a person who takes risks. I just don’t know where this particular risk would take us to, but I hope we survive it.” Paul said and laid down to sleep.
