MY COMFORT ZONE EPISODES 11-20

PRINCESS STORIES

EPISODE 19

Gift was in class but her mind wasn’t there at all. Her dream about someone stabbing her dad kept bothering her.

“And this fellow is a close friend of my daddy, I’m sure of it.” She whispered to herself while deep in thoughts.

“But I’ve had this particular dream twice now, why is dad finding it difficult to believe me?”

“Daberechi Gift!!!” Her teacher called with a voice that startled her.

“Ma?”

“My friend, stand up! How dare you be absent-minded in my class?” The teacher asked angrily.

“I’m…I’m sorry Ma.”

“Sorry for yourself. My friend sit down, and concentrate.”

David came to his office that day, obviously furious.
“I honestly don’t understand what is wrong with Belinda these days. How can she suddenly turn against my close friend for goodness’ sake?” He reasoned within as he punched the keyboard of his computer furiously.

***Earlier that morning***

“Babe, are you going already?” Belinda said as he hurriedly followed her husband to the living room.

“Of course yes, I’m dressed already.”

“But we haven’t prayed about the dream I had.”

“Your dream needs no prayers. It was birthed from a false perspective.”

“But that’s not true. I feel God is trying to warn us aforetime about something really deadly.”

“Belinda please listen. If it’s about you painting Micheal black to me, then I’m not interested. For God’s sake, what wrong has this guy done to deserve this?”

“I’m not painting him….”

“I’m late to work already, okay? Probably when I have time to waste, we can talk about this issue.”

As David kept ruminating over what occurred in his house that morning, he heard a knock on his door.

“Yes, please come in.” He said and Michel walked in.

“Micheal.”

“My guyyyyyy….”

“How far na?”

“I dey jare. Wetin dey sup na?”

“I’m fine.”

“I just dropped to remind you of our outing in two days time. I hope you’ve not forgotten.”

“No I haven’t. Okay let me….”

“Inform your wife?” Micheal completed his sentence as he saw him pick up his phone in an attempt to dial a number. David for once looked embarrassed.

“No you can call her, I ain’t stopping you.” Michel said with his hands in the air.

“You know what? I don’t think that’d be necessary.” David said and dropped his phone.

Gift was quite absent-minded when Favour approached her.
“What are you thinking about?” Favour queried when she startled at her voice. Gift gave no response.

“Anyway, it’s break time already and time for fellowship. Are you coming?”

“Oh yes sure.” She said and got up on her feet. They left together for the fellowship.

“We all know the story of Ammon, the son of David that raped his sister Tamar right?” Rachel said as she began preaching.

“Yes we do.” They chorused.

“Good. We’re going to have a critical look at that story. Please let’s all open to our scripture reference today: 2Samuel chapter 13. Can someone read for us, please.” She said and a student from the congregation volunteered to read.

“Good, thank you. SO without further ado, let me get into what I want us all to think about from this passage.” Rachel said and paused for a while before she continued

“Now I want us all to imagine being in Ammon’s shoes: invited by your brother to a big party. What kind of outfit would you wear for that kind of occasion?” She asked a question and hands were raised.
“I’d wear my favorite outfit ofcourse. I’d consider the red gown mom bought for me just recently.” A girl said

“I think I’d go for my best suit.” A boy from the secondary section said

“Good. That’s beautiful. Now in that kind of beautiful occasion, would you ever think of having a dagger beneath your cloth or any sort of weapon?”

“No” A girl responded.

“Of course not.” Some said.

“Ah ah, what for?” Others responded.

“Very good! I’m sure Ammon had the same mentality- there was no need carrying his weapons along to a birthday party. So literally, it wasn’t his fault he was killed per say. True or false?”

“True.”

“Good, now if you look around you, there are many Ammons in our society today. That is, there are still a lot of people who fall victim in places they least expected it- at parties, in their friend’s houses, or even in their homes where a supposed spouse poisons the other.
Like Ammon, they never suspected a thing- they had their guards down and were caught unawares.
This afternoon, God wants us to be extra-careful with the kind of people we walk with. Always have your weapons ready for any attack because the devil charges at us at our unguarded hour.”

“What weapons are we to always have, Ma?” A girl stood up to ask.

“Yes, how can we be on guard at all times?” Someone else asked. This made Rachel smile

“I’m very happy with your questions because it shows you’re following. Okay to answer your questions, let’s look into the Bible and read 2Corinthians 10:4-5.” She said and read the passage herself.

“Now from this passage, we understand that the weapons I’m talking about aren’t physical weapons- they’re spiritual ones. Since whatever happens here on earth has already taken place in the spiritual realm, you need to be prayerful enough to have your weapons on at all times to avoid being a victim of circumstances like Ammon was.

One sure way we can have our guard on is by being prayerful, by departing from sin, and most importantly, by not neglecting your dreams.

God in His infinite mercies warns us of danger well ahead of time through our dreams. For example, if he has seen your relationship with a particular person is going to harm you or your family, He brings that to your attention through your dreams.” Rachel said. At this point, Gift vividly recalled her dream about her dad

“You see? I said it! But dad wouldn’t listen to me.” Gift thought to herself.

“In some cases, God might show you a danger ahead about to happen to a member of your family and not necessarily you. In that case, it is your duty to stand in the gap for such a fellow. Most especially if he/she doesn’t understand what you’re talking about.
In whatever you do, make sure your dreams aren’t ignored.” Rachel said

“Hmm…stand in the gap.” Gift reasoned and in no time, her hand was raised.

“Yes, you want to say something?”

“No Ma, I have a question.”

“Okay, I’m all ears.”

“Please I don’t understand what you mean by standing in the gap. Can you explain a little?” Gift requested

“Oh okay. Standing in the gap for someone simply means to intercede for someone. Like I was saying earlier if someone isn’t taking your dreams about him/her serious, you can simply withdraw to your prayer closet and take action.
The first thing you need to do to tackle a bad dream about yourself or someone is to cancel the dream by the blood of Jesus, then intercede.
Pray for the person’s safety if your dream is about danger;
pray for the person’s life if your dream is death-related;
pray for the person’s security if the fellow lost something in the dream.
By praying for that person, you can be rest assured God will not allow any form of evil befall him/her.” Rachel responded as Gift smiled, satisfied with her answer.

“That’s exactly what I’m going to do for my daddy!”

Belinda was busy in her office when she felt the urge to call her husband.

“He’s not picking. Is he still angry?”

David saw his wife’s calls but refused to pick up.
“I don’t want to get my mind poisoned about Michel. He’s been good to me all these while; I don’t know what is wrong with you people.”

MY COMFORT ZONE EPISODES 11-20

After Belinda had called about 5times, she decided to drop her phone and say a word of prayer.
“Lord please guide y husband. Open his eyes O Lord to see and not fall into traps set for him, in Jesus’ name.” She prayed quietly.

Friday finally came and as agreed, David and Michel set out for the building site.

“Guy let’s pass this street.” Michel suggested to David who was on the steering.

“Why, that’s a very lonely street. It has even been recorded that bad things happen there.” David said and Micheal laughed.

“Bad things? Aren’t you a Christian?”

“What has Christianity got to do with what I just said?”

“Well, this is the time to show that you have faith in your God.” Michel said and the convinced David obliged.

The road was smooth at first, until they got to a point where the road was untarred and so bad that it was impossible to speed up.
David who had not plied the road before began reciting all the Psalms he knew in his heart.

“Micheal, it’s like we’re being followed.” David said as he looked at his side mirror.

“That’s impossible. Who did we offend that will be following us?”

“Michel I’ve been driving for close to ten years now; I can tell when someone is trailing me or not. Can’t you see the way that red car is following us closely?”

“You’re too scared my friend, it’s not posi….”

“Jesus!…Jesus, Jesus, Jesus!!!” David shouted as the red car overtook and blocked their path.

“Out, now!” A masked fellow said to David at gun-point. David didn’t bother arguing with him as he complied immediately.
As David was being led into the red car, a gunshot was heard.

“Micheal? Noooooo…” David said on turning back to see his friend lying lifeless on the ground.
