Daniel couldn’t get enough sleep. How could something he had spent months planning not work out? And to think he had to go through the stress of getting close to him to master his movements. What a waste of time and efforts!

“Sir!” He heard a voice say that got him out of his thoughts.

“Ohhhhh….Mariam what is it?”

“I just wanted to inform you that your food is ready Sir.” She said respectfully. Daniel waved his hands in the air indicating he wanted to be left alone. Marian understood this and left.
As soon as she was gone, a call came through for him. Daniel sighed on seeing it was Rick calling.

“What is it?” He asked with a cold tone.

“I told you you can’t handle this guy yourself but you wouldn’t listen. Now tell me, how did it go?” Rick said and laughed for a while.

“Did you call me spite me, or you have something meaningful you want to share with me.”

“Well, Baba said we should be expecting some drama next week. Trouble would start in the life of your rival, but it’d be one step at a time.”

“I hope the result would be what I’m expecting.” Daniel said

“The patient dog they say, eats the fattest bone.”

David and Micheal had a good time during the weekend. They ate, drank and visited places together.

“Omo, it’s been long I had that kind of fun with him.” David said bubbling with excitement as he narrated his day to his wife.

“What is it? Why so quiet?” David asked on noticing the countenance of his wife.

“Hmmm…truly I’m happy for you, really happy you enjoyed your day but something feels off. My heart is strangely not comfortable with this Micheal friend of yours anymore.” Belinda said meekly

“And why is that?” David asked with a frown.

“I don’t know. I really can’t tell.”

“Babe, if I get what you are saying correctly, you’re saying you don’t like a friend that has been there for me through the good and tough times and that has always had my back. Is that it?”

“No dear, that is not what I’m saying.”

“No that is exactly what you’re saying.”

“It’s not, honestly. It’s just that I….”

“You want me to stop quit being friends with him because of what you feel?”

“No no no, honey I didn’t say that.”

“Then what exactly are you saying woman, what?” He asked with an angry tone.

“Baby please calm down, it hasn’t gotten to this.”

“Ehn ehn, okay what then has it gotten to?”

“Nothing, I’m just telling you how I feel. Asin my heart just doesn’t click with this Micheal guy.”

“So?”

“So just be careful.” She said and placed a hand on his, to ease tension.

“I will be, but it’s best you unfeel what you feel about my close pal.” He said, separating his hand away from hers and walked out.

“Oh God, did I communicate my feelings in a wrong manner?” Belinda asked herself as she watched her husband walk out on her.

David paced around the living room in anger.

“How could she feel uncomfortable about my relationship with Mike. Mike? Of all people for God’s sake! That’s how she felt uncomfortable about the way I rolled with Richard; she couldn’t even give a justifiable reason to the way she “felt”. Yet because I had wanted to please her, I cut ties with him..The same thing with a Dorcas; and now Mike? Oh no it’s not possible. It’s not possible at all.” He said to himself in annoyance.
Just then, his phone rang.

“Hello my guy.” Micheal said hgh-spirited.

“Brotherlyyyyy! How far na?”

“I dey. I get gist for you.”

“Oya na, I dey with you.”

“Ehn ehn you remember that business I told you about that I invested in?”

“Yeah?”

“E don yield profits! Omo, I don blow.” Michel said with laughter in-between.

“Oh wow, I’m happy for you oooo.”

“Abi na. If you had listened to me then and also invested, we both would be celebrating by now and not just me. But it’s always the same story with you: my wife this, my wife that.”

“Hmmm….”

“Well sha, that’s by the way. Ehe how far about your construction site na, let’s go see it together.”

“Oh yeah that’s true. There’s really nothing to see there. They’ve just laid the foundation that’s all. The land sef is bushy. I’d still phone someone to clear it.”

“Yeah but you promised to take me there, remember? Plus I really want to know the location of the site; I can come visiting in your new home when it’s finished.”

“Yeah okay.”

“Good. So when would we be going?”

“Uhmmm…..my schedule this week is really tight o hmmmm….but I think Friday would do. Yeah let’s make it Friday.”

“Okay, Friday it is then.”

Rachel was observing her quiet time that evening.

“Lord I ask that you speak to me as I read your word this evening, in Jesus name. Amen.” She said in prayer just before she opened her Bible to read. She landed in 2Samuel 13.
As she studied carefully, she received insights from the chapter.

“Absalom was really discreet in carrying out his plans to kill his brother o; and to think it never came to Ammon’s mind that he’d be murdered, especially in a place he never expected it. He let his guard down, because he didn’t expect anything to occur there that’d require his weapons…hmmmm, that’s deep.” She soliloquized as she read verse 28 over and over again.

“That’d be what you’d preach in your next sermon at the fellowship.” She heard in her spirit as she made jottings of the insights she had received.

Today I render you blind to see this trap I’m setting for you. Become too daft to discern this pit you’re about to fall in. You shall not escape! You shall not escape!! You shall not escape!!!”

David was enjoying the time of his life in the living room as he watched one of his favorite movies which was on display.

“Daddy..” Gift walked up to him and placed her head on his lap.

“My favorite.” David responded with an embrace.

“Were you sleeping?” He asked when he noticed the countenance on her face. She nodded affirmatively.

“Daddy, I know the person that stabbed you the other time.” She said as her father cuddled her.

“You know?” He asked.

“Yes.”

“Okay so…who is he then?”

“A very close friend of yours, someone you didn’t expect to do what he did.” Little Gift said and David looked confused.

“A very close friend of mine. What is this child saying? The only close friend I have presently is Micheal.” He reasoned within.

“I don’t get you. Where did you get this information from?”

“From a dream.”

“What dream?”

“The dream I had just now that I woke up.”

“Well Gift thank God you said it yourself; it is a dream and nothing more, okay? So there’s really nothing to worry about.” David said

Gift got up to give a shocked expression

“Seriously?”

“Yes dear, seriously.”

“No that’s a lie. Mummy said we should never ignore our dreams, no matter how insignificant it might seem. And again Aunty Rachel all dreams have meanings.” Gift said. David was beginning to get pissed off.

“Gift please go to your room.” He said sharply. Gift sure wasn’t expecting that.

“Sir?”

“I said go to your room.”

“But we are still…”

“Now!!!” He thundered and that made the little girl shudder. She immediately disengaged from his arms and ran to her room.

“Honey what is it?” Belinda asked, coming out of the kitchen when she heard his voice.

“What is wrong with everyone these days? Michel this, Micheal this, Micheal that. For God’s sake this guy has been good to me all the days I’ve known him. He has even saved my life once. If he was a bad person as everyone is trying to paint him to be, he wouldn’t have rescued me from a trouble I was getting myself into few years ago.”

“What happened?”

“Your daughter came here talking rubbish about Micheal. I got pissed and asked her to go inside.” He said plainly

“Micheal again? What did she say?”

“That he’s the guy that stabbed me in the dream .”

“Hmmm…..how did she know that?”

“She said she saw it in a dream she just had.”

“And you think she framed that up? What if God is trying to warn you about something that has do with your dealings with him?”

“Oh I see. Okay so you’re taking sides with your daughter abi?”

“That is not the point.”

“Then what is Belinda, what is?!
For God’s sake you all know Michel very well. You in particular have seen him. You even said you liked him when I introduced you to him. You were cool with our friendship. Now he’s suddenly a foe. This life no balance at all, e just dey get K leg anyhow. Make everybody go rest abeg.”
