by Wizkid and Brent Faiyaz have joined forces for a brand-new single titled “Piece of My Heart,” released today (Oct. 18). This highly anticipated track is the lead single from Wizkid’s upcoming sixth studio album, Morayo, set to drop on Nov. 22 under Starboy/Sony Music International/RCA Records.
Earlier this week, Wizkid teased fans with a snippet of the song on Instagram. In the track’s infectious chorus, Brent Faiyaz sings, “Nothing can tear us apart / You’ve got a piece of my heart / Nothing can tear us apart (Nothing in this world) / You’ve got a piece of my heart (That belongs to you, girl).”
Collaboration Highlights Wizkid has been selective with his collaborations in 2024, featuring on tracks like “MMS” with Asake on Lungu Boy and “Work Me Out” with Shenseea on her album Never Gets Late Here. Meanwhile, Faiyaz’s only major collaboration this year was “Should’ve Wore a Bonnet” with 21 Savage from his album American Dream.
The two stars also share a few notable collaborators, including Don Toliver, who appeared on his 2023 album Love Sick—Wizkid on “Slow Motion” and Faiyaz on “Bus Stop.” Both also worked with Nigerian sensation Tems, known for the chart-topping hit “Essence,” a collaboration between Wizkid and Tems that peaked at No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 after a remix with Justin Bieber.
Upcoming Album: Morayo Wizkid’s upcoming album, Morayo—which translates to “I see joy” in Yoruba—is slated for release just two years after his 2022 album More Love, Less Ego, which hit No. 59 on the Billboard 200 and No. 2 on World Albums. Fans are eagerly awaiting this next chapter in his music career.
