Episode 18

“Thank you Jesus. Thank you Jesus. Thank you Jesus.” Teju heard a voice saying while half-asleep.

“Ken.” He called out when he turned around to see he was the one.

“Good morning.” Ken greeted with a happy face.

“Morning. Are you the one I was hearing in my sleep thanking God.”

“Omo yes o.”

“Okay. So what happened this time?”

“It’s my dream ni. Today’s dream was a victorious one and I’m so grateful to God.”

“Okay, so what happened?”

“ I saw myself being dragged by some people. They looked like my mates, but none of them had a familiar face. They were dragging me with a rope that was on my waist and saying ‘you must join us! You’re part of us and there’s no going back.’

But I refused to go so I kept struggling. After some time, I opened my mouth and shouted ‘Jesus help me!’ And guy immediately an invisible force cut the rope connecting me to those people and I woke up.” Ken said as Teju smiled all through.

“Omo, this is like the first time in how many months now that I’d wake up from sleep without a nightmare or two. I’m just grateful to God.”

“Smiles. I’m happy for you, really. Well, your dream life would be changing small small like that. It’d graduate from being a land of nightmares to one of victories.

And that is because your spiritual life has improved over the months now. You now pray on a daily basis, read your Bible more frequently and observe some quiet time before you go to bed so of course, tables would turn and power would change hands.” Teju said.

“I’m grateful o. Thank you for letting God use you to help me out of my misery.” Ken said and exhaled

“I’m so glad school would be closing in the next two weeks. I can’t wait to go home and tell everything that has been happening so far to my parents, and also take my spiritual life to the next level.”

‘Omo me too o. I miss my Mama food I swear down.”

“You’re not the only one jare. This one they’re giving us here ehn…..I don’t even know how to describe the taste of the food.”

“Honestly! Them no rate us at allllll.”

“I tell you mehn. Omo me I wan go wash clothes sha. It’s weekend, and all my clothes are dirty.”

“Goodluck to you o. Me I’m going back to sleep abeg, na you wake me up sef.” Teju said and turned to the other side of his bed as Ken laughed, shook his head and left

Momoh was fuming seriously. He had stormed out of the Council meeting in anger.

“I can’t believe those folks are powerless, completely powerless over that little brat. How come?” He soliloquized as paced around his shrine angrily.

“Why did you leave the league in that manner? That’s so disrespectful.” Detar appeared in Momoh’s shrine and asked.

“Why wouldn’t I, when you failed me? You all failed me woefully. Tueh!” Momoh said and spat on the ground.

“But I warned you before we began. Those people are too powerful for us.”

“Too powerful, or you’re too weak.” Momom said mockingly.

“Don’t insult me Momoh. Remember where I brought you from.”

“Let’s not even go there. Be in the present, will you? You’re powerless! You may have been powerful in the past, but beyond any reasonable doubt, with this failed mission, Detar you are powerless!” Momoh said and Detar’s eyes sparked fire

“Enough! I’ve had it with you.” Detar said and stretched forth the little scepter in his hand. Immediately, Momoh began struggling to breath.

“Next time, you watch your mouth.” Detar said and disappeared, leaving Momoh’s lifeless body in his shrine.
