My Comfort Zone Season 2 Episodes 11-End
Season 2
Episode 14

Belinda woke up feeling pressed. Slowly, she got up from bed and headed for the bathroom. On her way back to bed she felt a sharp pain at her back.
She ignored it at first until it became severe

“David….David!” She called out but her husband was asleep.

“Jesus wake him up for me.” She whispered as she tried to bear the pain she was feeling.

“David! Babe wake up.” Belinda said groaning. David who was still sleepy managed to turn towards the direction of his wife’s voice. The mere sight of her groaning in pains on the floor where she was drove sleep out of his eyes.

“Jesus! What happened? Has your water broken? Is it time already?” He asked as he rushed to assist her.

“Hospital please, hospital….” She managed to say as she beat her lap repeatedly.
Frank looked at the wall clock.

“9pm. What do I do now? Do I call a cab or drive down there myself?” He thought aloud.

“Get a cab.” His wife replied his thoughts, and that was exactly what they did.
They managed to get out of the house and flag a cab down to get to the hospital.

Anita had just finished prayers and was about to go to bed when she had the nudge to call her sister. She tried to ignore but it became stronger.
Immediately she picked up her phone, she received a call from her in-law

“Hello David good….”

“Hello sis. Please your sister is in labour, and she’s been here for the past three hours. Please join me in praying for her please.” He heard her in-law say in a rush.

“It’s not enough praying over the phone, you need to go there yourself.” She heard the gentle voice say within her.

“Huh? By this time? This is past midnight.”

“Go, I’ll protect you. I’m sending you.”

“Wait….which hospital is she in?” Anita asked when she paused the prayer.

“Uhmm okay. Let me call you back please.” She said as soon as she got the address.

“Madam we’re getting there okay? Do not be afraid, you can do it.” The doctor-in-charge encouraged Belinda as soon as she was wheeled into the labour room.
She had been brought to the hospital and attended to as soon as possible.

She had asked for her husband to be with her in the labour room as his presence might help her gain more confidence; but the doctor said it was against their policy, so he had to remain outside.

“Okay now, PUSH.” She heard the doctor say and she obeyed with every strength in her.

“Good, we’re getting there. Again, PUSH!” The midwife said and she did so.

“Wow! Congratulations ma’am.” One of the nurses in the ward said as the midwife brought out the new-born from within her.

“He’s not crying, why?” The midwife asked after several attempts to make the new-born make a sound.

“Oh God please no. I reject a half-baked miracle.” Belinda prayed within her as she stared at her new-born the midwife was trying to revive.

“I think this is the place……” Anita whispered to her husband over the phone as she approached St. Mark hospital.

“Are you sure? Check the address he gave you very well.” Frank said

“I have. I’m sure it’s here.” Anita replied as she drove to the gate. After proper investigation by the gateman, she was allowed into the hospital compound.

David was speechless when he sighted Anita walk into the hospital

“How did you…? I thought…”

“Look, I’d explain everything later okay, that’s not important now. How is my sister?”

“She’s fine. She’s still in the labour room….” David said. It wasn’t long he said this, before the doctor approached them.

“Eii Doctor…please how’s my wife?”

“She’s healthy, very sound….”

“Okay. And the child.”

“It’s a bouncing baby boy.”

“Halleluyah!” David said, raising his hands in the air in worship

“You don’t sound very happy about the supposed goodnews you’re sharing with us. Did something go wrong somewhere?” Anita who happened to be more observant, asked.

“Ehmm….well….” The doctor stammered, trying to find the right professional words to say.

“Well, what? Did something happen to my wife?”

“No.”

“Or is it the baby?”

“No. I mean yes. You see actually I…can I see you in my office please. That’s the best place I can explain myself.” The doctor said, but Anita wasn’t having it. Walking past the doctor in a haste, she made her way to the labour room.

“What is happening here?” She asked

“Ma…sorry Ma, but visitors are not allowed into the labour room.” One of the nurses politely said

“I understand that, and I am no visitor. I’m a relative- her sister.” She said, pointing to Belinda who was at this time, in tears.

“Where’s the child please?” Anita asked calmly as the midwife handed over the new-born to her.

“Miracle isn’t dead, he isn’t.”Anita said with a smile.

“Madam we’ve been here for over four hours with this child. If he wasn’t dead, he would’ve by now cried like other children would normally do.”

“Gbam! That’s the point. He’s not just a normal child.” Anita said with all confidence in her. With everyone watching, she closed her eyes and began to pray.

“Miracle- that’s your name. Wonder- that’s the name I’m giving you this day as your aunty. Now hear the word of the Lord.

It is written who is he that saith a thing and it cometh to pass when the Lord commandeth it not? Now in the same vein I ask: who is death that would dare say a thing against the word of God and it’d come to pass? You’re a child promised by God, molded by the word of God and brought forth into this world through the grace and strength of God.

Because God has been involved in your case since day 1, I declare you have overcome all battles assigned against you. Therefore in the name of Jesus I declare unto you, wake up!” She said and began to blast in tongues. Slowly, Belinda joined her in prayers with the strength she had gathered from rest.

“It is written, If I say to this mountain, be thou removed and be cast into the sea without having any form of doubt in my heart, I shall have whatsoever I say.

I stand upon the infallible word of God in Mark 11:23 and I declare: thou mountain of death harassing this child, be thou removed and be cast into the sea, in the name of Jesus.” Anita spoke into the ears of her sister’s child as Belinda’s prayer in tongues increased.

The midwife and nurses present also prayed along, muttering their words.
It wasn’t up to five minutes of intense prayers when Anita felt the body of the child getting warm.
Immediately she sensed this, she began to worship.
Soon everyone joined her in praising God and glorifying His holy name.

“Praise God!” One of the nurses shouted for joy as the child sneezed in the presence of them all.

“Give him to me.” The midwife said as Anita handed over the child to her.

“He’s alive Sir, hale and hearty.”One of the nurses announced to the doctor who had just walked in and was surprised to see everyone including the mother on the bed worshipping God and calling Him sweet names.

“How possible?” He questioned as the midwife presented the new-born to him.

“This is a miracle. Indeed, God is realer than real!” The doctor exclaimed.

“And that was how I found myself in Nigeria, the day before Wonder was born.” Anita concluded her explanation on how she flew to Nigeria after a divine direction to do so in her dream, confirmed and then approved by her husband.

“Wow…hmmm. Now I get it. The devil knew that your presence will be needed the day Wonder would be born, so he attempted to go ahead of us and make our relationship grow sour.

Afterall, no be person wey you dey relate well with go gree follow you go labour room?” Belinda said, as she breastfed Wonder.

“Abi na…..the devil can be anything, but not a fool. Like omo, he was really clever o. Creating a situation in a helper’s life, so she wouldn’t have time to attend to you. Wonderful!” David commented as they all nodded in agreement.

“Okay, it seems I’ve overstayed here o, so I’d be leaving tomorrow by God’s grace.”Anita said as soon as she was done talking to someone on the phone.

“Let me guess, it was your husband that called, right?”

“Yes o. In his own words he said: ‘shey you don’t want to come back ni, abi you sister never born finish?” Anita said, trying to mimic her husband’s voice

“Awwn…..he misses his wife already.” David said and chuckled

“Why wouldn’t he? It’s been over a week now.” Anita defended with a smile

“I know right? I can only imagine what it feels like to not have someone to cuddle for a whole week.” David said as he looked towards the direction of his wife with a smile.

“I refuse to be oppressed biko. Thank God I’m going back soon.” Anita said when she noticed the way David stared at his wife.

“Jealous sister.” Belinda teased and laughed afterwards.
