MY COMFORT ZONE : EPISODES 21 – THE END OF SEASON 1

Princess Stories

Episode 22

“Mummy mummy mummy.” She heard her daughter call. She remained where she was until her daughter came to sit beside her and give her a hug.

“Mummy daddy is back.” She announced. Belinda sprung to her feet immediately.

“Where? Where is he?”

“I mean he’s coming home soon.” Gift said and Belinda sighed and shook her head.

“Gift what kind of expensive joke are you trying to play with me this evening?”

“But mom I’m not joking around. Dad really is coming home soon.”

“How did you know that?”

“Someone told me?”

“Who?”

“A servant of God.” She replied. Belinda got confused.

“A servant of God? Where?”

“In my dream.”

“Hmmm…you know sometimes when I look at you and this your dream life, I feel like I didn’t name you well.” Her mother said as she sat beside her

“You didn’t name me well how? I thought Gift was a good name.”

“It is, but in your case you should’ve been named Josephine, the feminine name for Joseph.”

“Why?”

“Because you’re such a dreamer. Remember this isn’t the first time you’re telling me this kind of dream. This is like the third time now.

You said yesterday morning that someone told you daddy is coming home soon. Last night the same thing, and now this evening?”

“But I’m not the one giving myself those dreams. “

“Exactly my point! The more reason you should be bearing Josephine instead of Gift.” Belinda said and sat beside her daughter.

“I hope your dream comes true though….and fast.”

MY COMFORT ZONE : EPISODES 21 – THE END OF SEASON 1

David woke up very tired. He hadn’t been fed with good food for the past few days and it has been telling on him lately.

While thinking of when God would answer his prayers and he’d finally be free to go home, one of the huge men that stood as bodyguards the first day he came walked in, exposing a small ray of light from the door.

“Here, your meal.” He said with a cold voice, turned around and left.
One look at the “meal” and David felt like throwing up.

“What kind of beans is this?” He asked as he managed to reach out for the plate. He bent the plate and the beans followed the direction of his hand.

David shook his head in disgust and dropped the plate. In about ten minutes, the boy with him got up and on the sight of the food rushed towards it and devoured it with reckless abandon.
David watched him in awe.

“Oh, was the food for both of us?” He asked when he caught David staring at him in a weird manner.

“Definitely not.” David replied almost immediately.

“My name is Festus.” The boy said, sitting beside David after he was done with his “meal”

“Nice to meet you Festus.” David said courteously. Festus sighed and removed his shirt from which a small Bible fell.

“Your Bible.” David said as he picked it up and handed it over to him.

“Oh, thank you Sir.” Festus said with a smile and collected it. He then began to hum praises as he used his shirt to fan himself.
David became confused.

The little boy that was crying as at the time he was brought in, now humming worship songs and making himself comfortable like he’s in his father’s palace? That’s awkward!

As if David’s mind was being read, Festus smiled and said
“I had a dream we’d be out of here in no time, so there’s no more need for tears.”

“How sure are you?” David asked. Festus gave a questioning look

“Don’t you want to be out of here?”

“I do but….I’ve been praying to God to be rescued from this place for sometime now, but I’ve not gotten any conviction it’d happen anytime soon.”

“Well, I guess God has given you the confirmation now.”

“But what about your sick mom? What would happen to her while you’re here?”

“We have a neighbor-turned-sister. She’d take care of her.”

“Oh!” David said and gave a nod.

The next evening, Festus was reading his Gideon Bible when he jumped in excitement.

“What is the excitement about?” David asked calmly.

“God has shown me our way of escape.” Festus said. David looked confused

“Our way of escape?”

“Yes! How He plans on getting us out of here.”

“Okay? How?”

“The Paul and Silas way!”

“Asin?” David asked. Fetsus took time to explain what he meant.

“So you’re saying for three days we should just praise God for the anticipated deliverance from this place.”

“Exactly! That’s what Paul and Silas did.”

“Hmm…” David said and gave a nod. Deep down in his heart, David marveled at how clearly a boy as young as Festus could pray and get replies from God while he experiences nothing of such.

“I sure am a baby Christian.” David thought within.

“So what do you say?” Festus asked, snapping David out of his thoughts.

“Huh?”

“Are you going to join me to praise God so He can come down and deliver us?”

“Is that a question? Of course yes!” David said and Festus let out a smile.
Unknown to them, there stood a fellow right behind the door listening keenly to their conversation.
