Since then, the Westbank group has  raised enough cash to buy:

• The Mark Twain Statue
• The Backyard Dragon
• The Giving Tree
• And the Bubble Machines
• As well as to provide scholarships to outstanding young library volunteers.

Westbank friends have consistently maintained their goals right from the beginning. The 2013 board expanded Westbank community to the Friends organization.

Each Spring, Westbank Library award scholarships to graduating teens who have volunteered a minimum of fifty (50) hours over a minimum of 2 semesters at the Westbank Community Library. Hours are confirmed by library staff.

Westbank Library Student Scholarship

In April 2022, the group commit to award two (2) scholarships within the amount of $1,000 each.

Applications are going to be emailed to eligible applicants beginning March 1, 2022.

Applicants must be a U.S. citizen qualified for admission to an accredited college or university. A reference letter from an adult who isn’t a relative or Westbank Library staff must be submitted by email to: friends@westbanklibrary.com

Funds are going to be disbursed upon proof of enrollment. Failure to enroll in an accredited institution   will end in forfeiture of the scholarship award.

The scholarship award is not renewable. Members of westbank organization will determine all scholarship award recipients.

Over  the years, the westbank group work days with a single  goal of completing a specific project.

ELIGIBILITY

 Participants must be at least 13 years old, and a parent or guardian is required to sign a waiver on behalf of those under the age of 18 years.
