The moment he found a place to lay his head, he slept peacefully without any fear of attack from wild animals.
“Jesus! Greg!”
“Greg what happened to you?”
Greg kept hearing voices until he opened his eyes to find his brother beside him.
With joy in his heart, he hugged him tight.
“Bro wassup with your leg?” Paul asked. Greg gave a smile.
“God dealt with me.” He said. Paul was confused at first.
“He made me realize He has been the one protecting us all the way and was the one responsible for keeping wild animals and hurtful insects from attacking us since we’ve been here.” Greg said. Paul hugged his brother in excitement.
“Hmmm….sometimes God has to deal with an hardened heart himself, since mere words from a fellow human wouldn’t do.” Festus thought to himself
“So what’s the next line of action?” David asked.
“He needs to get well first. Let me go gather some medicinal leaves outside”

Sometimes ehn, na only God sabi handle some people….only God.
Greg’s experience is what usually happens when we think we can do without God’s help and instructions.
I hope we learnt something from this.

Belinda just got home from her place of work, quite exhausted. Thankfully, Gift was on holiday so she didn’t have to bother about school run.
Sitting down with a glass of water in her hand, her thoughts flashed back to the whereabouts of her husband.
“God….you told me he’s coming back a better man, and that he’s coming home soon. But he’s not back yet. I miss him so much God.
I miss his warmth, his voice and his love. When is he ever going to come home?” She thought aloud and just then, heard a knock on her door.
Belinda called her daughter who was in her room to go see whom was at the door; she was too tired to get up from where she was seated.
“Daddy? Daddy!!!” Gift said with a scream and hugged whoever was at the door so tight.
“Daddy? Did she just say daddy?” She reasoned within and got up to see for herself.
“Oh My God!!!” She exclaimed on sighting her husband whose arms she ran into and wouldn’t let go for quite a while.
“Mummy it’s okay. Release him before you choke him for us.” Gift said, dragging her dress. Belinda paid no attention to her.
I mean, what would you expect from a woman who had been separated from the love of her life for so long?
“Mummy he’ll faint oo. Can’t you see he’s tired?” Gift pressed further. It was then Belinda let go of him for a brief moment.
“I’m so sorry love. I’m just too happy to see you.” Belinda said as she cupped his face in her palms. David who was too tired to talk only gave a smile.
Belinda understood his body language and made him sit on the dining table as he told Gift to bring the food she had prepared earlier that day.
“Here, have some juice.” Belinda offered as she waited for Gift to bring the food. She knew she had to be in the kitchen and serve her husband herself, but his countenance looked like he needed her by his side.
“I prefer water.” He replied, rejecting the juice
“Water? Oh okay. Just hold on, I’ll get it for you.”

“So that was how you all managed to escape?” Belinda asked as he narrated how he was able to break free from the hands of the kidnappers.
“Yes. I couldn’t imagine getting out of there myself. Thank God for Paul and Greg who he used to get me and Festus out of there.”
“Okay wait. So let me understand the whole thing. So there’s Paul, Greg and Festus, right?”
“Correct.”
“Good, so where are they now?”
“In their different abode of course. I escorted Festus to his home since it wasn’t too far away from where we bursted out; Paul and Greg said they’d find their way.”
“Oh okay. So everyone is safe?”
“Yeah sure.” David replied. Belinda was quiet for a while, just staring intensely at her husband.
“What? Is something on my face?”
“I’m just glad you’re back home babe. I missed you a lot my best friend.” She said as he caressed his beards and kissed him passionately.
“I missed you more sugar. For once I thought I was never going to see you or the kids again.” David said as Belinda chuckled.
“That’s impossible; because while you were away, God assured your wife and kids that’d you’d return home soon. Not just return, but you’d return a better Christian and husband.”
“Speaking of being a better Christian, I think I got to know more about God while in the den of those kidnappers, thanks to Festus. His relationship with God really challenged me that I was this close to envying him.”
“Oh really? But you know there’s really no need to envy anyone in this kingdom; you can get to any height you want to, so far you’re willing to put in the work.”
“Omo, I’m willing to put in the work o. Can you imagine we were in the same cell and while I was there panicking over my wife and children, wondering if I’d ever set my eyes on them again, this small boy was there calm and comfortable like we were in a hotel.
Do you know that even while in the bush, he was more or less like our ‘seer’ because he was the one God was using to give us directions on how to find our way back to town? Omo, I envy the guy o.”
“Hmmm…that shows you that age isn’t a barrier in the Kingdom of God. God can use you regardless of your age.”
“You don’t have to tell me that fact; I witnessed it myself.”
“Abi na. Seeing is believing.” Belinda said as she chuckled.
“In this particular case? Well yes. Ehe I even forgot to gist you about when we were….”
“Babe, it’s 2am already. We should go back to sleep now.”
“Why? We’ve had five hours of sleep already, and we just woke up.”
“Yes but you have to be up bright and early, and energetic enough to handle the stress of today.”
“I know all that, but I’m not done talking to you. I have a lot of gist for you.”
“I know dear, but we have to sleep back now.” Belinda said caressing her husband as she persuaded him to sleep some more.
