How to Store Velveeta

Velveeta has a long shelf life and if it’s unopened it can be kept on a shelf without any fear of it going bad. It can last up to 2 or 3 weeks longer than the expiry date. You have to ensure that it’s kept away from excess heat and moisture.

Once opened a Velveeta cheese pack can last up to eight weeks but you’d have to store it in the refrigerator after each use. Also before reusing it you have to check that it is still in good condition.

When storing an opened pack of Velveeta you have to keep it properly wrapped to prevent air from getting in. If air gets into the pack it’ll harden, although you can still eat it you’ll have to cut off the hard edges and that would end up wasting most of the cheese. It is best to wrap it properly before storage.

Velveeta can stay frozen for up to 6 months so you can store opened Velveeta in the freezer, do not store Velveeta in its original wrap. You can put it in a plastic freezer bag before storing it in the freezer.
